Enactus UK & Ireland aims to support young people in the UK and Ireland to engage in inclusive and free-to-access youth social action and youth social enterprise. Our mission is to be recognised as a leader in developing a national network of socially minded young leaders of the future who demonstrate the ability and vision to transform communities and society through real-life social action and environmentally responsible enterprise. We are diverse, inclusive and student-led. We train, support and empower young people to deliver and compete with programmes that impact beneficiaries in communities across the full range of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
At Enactus UK & Ireland, we see and act on the opportunities to help young people develop through experiential and co-curricular learning to do more than volunteer and fundraise. We also see the opportunity to help corporates to do more than ‘CSR’ and to engage with young people in society to become responsible businesses in an ethical and sustainable world.
We are dedicated to creating a better world while developing the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders and social innovators. The Enactus UK & Ireland network of business, academic and student leaders are unified by our vision - to create a better, more sustainable world. We have established a diverse and inclusive university programme which has been running since 2001 and now operates in 70 universities across the UK and Ireland, engaging up to 4,000+ students each year.
We make the connection between character education and the world of work, enabling young people to develop the capabilities and attitudes they need to succeed, building on the experience of youth social action, enterprise and entrepreneurship. We work with educational professionals, business leaders, mentors, specialists and Alumni who combine to create a unique co-curricular enterprise environment.
With the support of the programme and its 600+ mentors and advisers, Enactus students deliver support to over 12,000 beneficiaries each year through the delivery of over 230+ socio-economic and environmental projects.
Our aim is to support as many young people in the UK and Ireland to gain the employability and personal character benefits of youth social action/enterprise up to the age of 25 as possible from a range of backgrounds. We are growing fast and we are breaking new ground in raising aspirations, enterprise education, character building and social and sustainability innovation and impact.
